"Citra" hops have a strong fruity aroma, a fairly high concentration of alpha acids, so they are suitable for both bitterness and aroma. This type is one of the newest hop types, introduced to the market in 2008. It was bred by crossing such types as "Halleratu Mittlefruh", "Brewers Gold", "Tettnanger", "Bavarian", "East Kent Goldings", so it has a lot of citrus and other tropical fruit flavor and aroma. It is best suited for pale or IPA style beers.
